The Chloe Raye "Normal in a Country Song" Tour
May 31, 2026 - Watford City, ND
It's always by my side. In the car, on the stage, atop my kitchen counter, on the floor beside my hotel bed.
It holds big bundles of my life. Dollar bills dumped out of my fishbowl tip jar for sorting and counting after a show's tear down, lip gloss and mascara, cell phone and keys, batteries and Band-aids, and extra guitar picks.
I had a smaller pink Wrangler brand purse a couple of years ago. The dirt, woven into its surface from time spent at dusty rodeos, rainy street dances and windy resorts, eventually made it look more gray than pink. So when my fiancé came across a similar version, he bought it and I said goodbye to the worn one that looked older than the memories it held, and hello to Wrangler II (or just plain Wrangler for short).
This weekend, Wrangler accompanied me to a songwriters night in Moorhead, MN, where two good friends and I shared our originals and told the stories behind them to the people who came to listen. The next day, I took Wrangler to a Minnesota lake bar and grill where teachers celebrating the end of the school year belted out songs along with me.
Saturday, Wrangler and I traveled from the eastern border of North Dakota almost to the state's western edge (300+ miles!). There, I joined a band and we helped a couple from my hometown celebrate the beginning of a lifetime together at their wedding dance in the fresh, fragrant air of the Little Missouri Badlands after rainfall.
And Sunday? It was north in my Jeep down a rural highway, past cow pastures and oil rigs, to help out a friend by bringing music to his church's first annual spring festival.
One day not long ago, my fiancé and I were shopping and found a mini pink Wrangler purse with cow print handles, almost identical to mine, but small enough to use as an ornament for a Christmas tree. So we had to buy it.
Last December, my boyfriend got down on one knee and proposed to me in front of an outdoor Christmas tree. This December, when we decorate our first Christmas tree together as Mr. and Mrs., you can be sure we'll put mini-Wrangler front and center amidst the sparkling lights. It will be by our sides as we begin the trip of a lifetime together, just like Wrangler sits by my side across the miles of this country music career.
